One is only helpful if one's ideas and actions can help others to further their own ideas and actions, inputs in respect to results (Inputs/Results). Whether it is altruistic or not.

My belief is that, more incentives (profits, gains on ideas, notoriety) is involved the bigger the help (ideas, actions, products, services).

I think Marketing/Promotion go hand in hand. One can market oneself without the necessary substances.

limit(market->oo) = market/substance => 0;

It is perfectly reasonable and desirable for one to promote and market oneself if one knows that one has the valuable information.

As one helps others, one gets promoted automatically unless some other actors in the space squashes, this happens at times.

I wonder whether these self-{promoting,anointed}-altruists want to get promotions where the promotion doesn't involve any additional rewards and incentives: raises, more vacations, ect...
